Whether they’re seeking a rhinoplasty to fix a broken nose or shortening the lengths of their ears to better fit in their helmets, athletes require cosmetic procedures as frequently as those working in other professions. Two players who currently sit on the rosters for some of the country’s most well-known teams may be getting plastic surgeries soon, following injuries they sustained while competing in their respective sports.
Defensive end J.J. Watt, who plays for the Houston Texans, may need a rhinoplasty following a devastating injury from the 2013 season. The Associated Press reported that the athlete, who has a history of being involved in violent hits, got a small gash on his face during the fourth week of the 2013 season. Initially, doctors gave Watt six stitches and told him to take it easy. Instead, Watt continued to play, ripping the injury open and causing an even deeper, permanent laceration to form.
